The exterior of the cabin is clad with larch. Larch is notorious for its durability in the outdoor elements along with its authentic aesthetic. The larch cladding alone on the Explorer Cabin should have a life expectancy of 20 years at least but for added protection against all weather types, we coat the larch with a sustainable wood preserver which also gives the cabin its signature colour.
The windows are located evenly along the sides of the cabin at eye level giving you the feeling of being part of the outdoor environment whilst still retaining your privacy inside.
The windows open from the bottom and due to their opposing nature, allow a flow of fresh air across the width of the cabin cooling the interior and encouraging an exchange of air.
Energy Efficiency Rating
Our chassis are built from robust structural steel that has been stress tested and then processed with a commercial surface protection that gives it an exceptionally long lifespan, galvanising is suitable for applications in all areas including coastal. The Explorer Cabin is portable and can be moved with ease by simply hitching onto a suitable vehicle with a tow hitch. No expensive ground foundations are required, firm level ground is perfectly suitable.
Having the appropriate equipment whilst cooking is essential to achieving your culinary desires, all Explorer Cabins will include a complete kitchen, featuring: an electric hob and extractor fan, a standard size sink with a modest work surface size so you don’t have to struggle for space when preparing food. They also include an oven plus ergonomic storage space for all your utensils.
Cool, Calm and Collected. The Explorer Cabin’s interior design is modern and stylish and leaves the impression of quality. To aid maintenance the interior walls are made up of individual robust boards that can take wear and tear in their stride, and can be custom finished to your requirements. They can also be swapped out should any damage occur, which means there is little downtime when doing maintenance.
Using the correct insulation is important to insulate against heat, cold and noise. State of the art insulation is used in the floors, walls and ceiling of the Explorer Cabin. We also add a smart ventilation system that automatically monitors the inside humidity levels and will make adjustments to keep the environment inside your Explorer Cabin comfortable.
The Explorer Cabin can also be adapted to work as a treehouse. A glamping experience suspended in the trees surrounded by nature is a whole adventure in itself. We can work with you to find the perfect design setup to suit your particular site. There are also additional platforms and decking available.

Usability
The design of the Explorer Cabin is focussed on working for the user. Whether it be simple aspects such as USB sockets to charge devices or unique space saving ideas to maximise the consumers living space.
The Shape
The rectangular interior design of the Explorer Cabin allows for maximum use of space. Furniture and other items take up valuable room in an area where space is a premium and so having a ceiling that has the same footprint as the floor allows for clever storage solutions such as a folding bed and overhead storage. A cathedral shaped unit can impact on your living area as the walls slope inward and fitting furniture can become troublesome.

Maintanence
We have looked at maintenance very closely, other builders of leisure homes use words such as “maintenance free”. There is no such thing. The design of The Explorer Cabin has maintenance factored in.
Routine maintenance with the Explorer Cabin is a breeze and you can even have a full refit should you desire in the years to come. All without affecting the main structural framework due to the interchangeable modular panels and solid construction.
